INKBLOT

a carnival mirror for the inside of your head.

People love being read. Star signs, sorting hats, which-potato-are-you quizzes: the pleasure is real even when the instrument is nonsense, and psychologists have a name for the effect that makes vague pronouncements feel eerily personal. INKBLOT takes that pleasure and plays it with all the cards face up: five ridiculous choices, one enormous verdict, and a closing line that tells you plainly it is a carnival mirror.

Why it exists

People love being read. Horoscopes, quizzes, the friend who says you are such a spring. This toy is the pleasure of being read with the pretence removed. Five tiny absurd choices, a door or a window, a bubble you may pop or spare, a cake marked yours or theirs, a chase you can win or lose or refuse, and a face you find in an inkblot, and then the oracle writes you up: a title, three verdicts, your inner weather, and a blot of your own.

Keyed to what you did

Every verdict is tied to a choice you made, so the profile reads like it knows you. It knows five things about you, and it says those five things back, dressed up.

The same choices, the same soul

The oracle is deterministic. Pick the same five things and you get the same title and the same weather, every time, on any phone. Change one choice and the reading changes. That is the whole machine, and the page tells you so.

The inkblot is yours

A symmetric blot is generated from your choices, and the share card carries it with your title. A carnival mirror, not a mirror. Nothing here is a test of anything. That is what makes it safe to enjoy.

The quiet parts

No account, no ads, nothing leaves your browser, and the reading is made from your five taps and nothing else. Nothing in this room measures, diagnoses, or knows anything about you; it is a toy about how minds wobble, made with affection for the wobble.
